Key events ahead - Westpac

Analysts at Westpac explained the key events taking place in the forthcoming session.

Key Quotes:

"The Jan NAB Australian business survey will be released at 11:30am Syd/8:30am Sing/HK. Conditions in Dec fell to 7 though remained at above average levels. Confidence also slipped but was resilient at 3. The RBA will be watching this survey, with Governor Stevens a week ago noting that in 2015, “(s)urveys of business conditions moved to above average levels”.

Much of Asia is still closed for the lunar new year holiday. China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Korea are away today though Indonesia and the Philippines return from their long weekend.

The calendar elsewhere remains relatively thin, limited to Germany Dec industrial production and US Jan NFIB small business optimism."
