Flash: NZD/USD outlook remains solid – ANZ

FXstreet.com (New York) - The NZD/USD has been one of the best performing currencies in the G10 since July, notes the ANZ Research Team.

Key quotes

“Like many other currencies, it was hit hard during the early stages of the Fed tapering debate, but it has since rebounded strongly.”

“Looking ahead, the outlook remains solid, thanks largely to favorable domestic characteristics – which we dub the Four C’s. In our view, these factors set the NZD/USD apart from its peripheral peers, and have been influential in turning the NZD’s fortunes around since early July.”

“Over the medium-term, a broad USD recovery beckons, but we expect the NZD to be more resilient to the USD recovery than many other currencies.”

USD/JPY extends decline below 98.50

After rising from 98.25 to test intra-day high at 98.75 in the early American session, the USD/JPY has been retreating to price below the 98.50 area.
